Top specialty winner in history

Handled By: Davin MacAteer and Larry Cornelius

Flynn is the top winning Briard in the history of the breed. He won the breed at
Westminster 4 times. Placed in the group there under the incomparable Mrs James
Edward Clark. Flynn won 4 national specialties and even more regional specialties, making him the top specialty winner of all time in breed history. His last national in 2004 was when he was nearly 11 years old.
Flynn won 17 Best In Shows and over 100 group ones. There were more than three
times that many group placements in his career.
Flynn is also the top producing sire in the breed with 49 champion get. Included
in those get are several group winners, national specialty winners and top
producers.
The top winning female of all time is Flynn's daughter Sassy, Ch Deja Vu Ruffles
Have Ridges Pt who herself is a national specialty winner, Westminster group
placer and multiple Best In Show Briard.
Flynn's son, Udo, Ch Deja Vu Up Close & Personal has dominated the breed as the
top producing sire from 2007 to 2013. Udo is a Best In Show dog, multiple
specialty winner and Westminster winner. But Udo's extraordinary talent lies in
his siring abilities having been bred to a wide variety of females from many
pedigrees and origins with tremendous success for us as well as other serious
and accomplished breeders.
Flynn was a character with an ego as big as the world . He thought he was the
king and never had a bad day. Supremely stable, extroverted and game for
anything described Flynn throughout his life. Even at almost 14 years old, the
night before he died, he cheerfully climbed the two flights of steps to sleep
next to the bed, the spot he occupied his while life.
There will never be another. He was a once in a lifetime.

Violet was one of the kindest, most stable and self confident Briards I have known. She knew who she was from the time she was a tiny little puppy. Violet was always comfortable in her own skin, always positive and always cheerful.
Violet was initially shown by Kim Haupt as a special to multiple Best In Shows. Notably, she won her first Herding group at just under two years old at the giant Canfield dog shows. Once bred, Violet was campaigned under the co-ownership of Lynn and Steve Bernard and shown by Regina Keiter. Violet was the first to break the Briard bitch Best In Show record which had been held since 1978 by the famous Ch Jennie D'el Pastre.
Violet was Best of Opposite at the National Specialty under Pat Hastings and won 9 Best In Shows.
Lost all too soon, at 7 1/2 years old probably from tainted dog treats from China. It was one of the most tragic losses in dogs I had experienced. Violet was a shining light of goodness and kindness. Her light still shines through her children, especially her daughters living here with us, Bo, 11 1/2 years old, Zilla, 8 years old and Bucket, 7 1/2.
